OPEN MICS AND SHOWCASES

OPEN MICS AND SHOWCASES
All levels of performance learning opportunities

OPEN MIC

Songwriters can play as few as one song and as many as 3-5 songs depending on how many sign up. Just show up and sign up on the list. You will get a turn to play for a nurturing audience who will listen to your song and not judge your performance, but can offer constructive feedback upon request.

SHOWCASE

Songwriters who have a live recording of their performance and can play 30 minutes of their original material may contact the showcase director to schedule a spot. If you do not have a recording, then show up and perform at the open mic and let the director know you will be there. Once you have performed on a 30 minute program, then you can apply for a one hour spot at one of our showcases. You must be a member in good standing of Dallas Songwriters Association to showcase.

KITCHEN CAFE ON LAST MONDAY MONTHLY ENDED

WEE ARE NO LONGER AT KITCHEN CAFE - (however we'd like to find another venue with a piano on location.

KITCHEN CAFE'  7-9PM
17370 Preston Rd
HOSTED BY DSA PREZ MICHAEL BRANDENBERGER
The Kitchen Café is an outstanding venue for an open mic because it features a wonderful stage including a grand piano and superb sound system.  In addition, the food is fabulous, ranging from continental cuisine to home cooking and their house pizza is the tops! The Kitchen Café has become a real go-spot for the local jazz scene because they feature jazz artists Wednesday through Saturday but the owner, Tony Hakim who is also a musician, wants to have a night for local singer/songwriters of all styles.

The Kitchen Café is at 17370 Preston Rd  in the same shopping center with La Hacienda Ranch.  The website is at http://kitchencafedallas.com/

Make your plans now to come and bring some friends to hear you sing your original songs at a real Dallas hot spot!.  The line-up will be based on a sign-up sheet and then doing 1- 3 songs.  Anyone is welcome to perform but DSA members will get to play first.
